NAHB Professional Women in Building Honors EO Holly Fraccaro
Executive Officer Holly Fraccaro of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties (HBADOC) in North Carolina has been named EO of the Year by the Professional Women in Building Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Professional Women in Building (PWB) members work in all aspects of the building industry—as owners, builders, remodelers, architects, suppliers, marketing experts, designers and in finance and real estate. HBADOC PWB, like other Professional Women in Building councils throughout the country, offers networking, education and advocacy opportunities through the HBA and through state and national events.
Fraccaro was named the Executive Officer of the HBADOC in October 2013, and in order to better support her local PWB, she soon became involved with the North Carolina Home Builders Association PWB and subsequently the PWB at NAHB. To bring renewed importance to her local PWB council, Fraccaro brought a new set of priorities to HBADOC to help strengthen and support the council.
In her first year with the HBADOC, Fraccaro increased the PWB membership by 20% through her personal recruitment efforts. She also initiated a series entitled “Embrace the B-Word: How to be a Bold Businesswoman in a Male Dominated Industry.” This series has been well received and encourages the participation of local women leaders to be guest speakers, increasing PWB networking and influence in local affairs.
Fraccaro and her PWB are involved in many community activities, including Habitat for Humanity Women Build, Habitat Blitz, and others. Fraccaro also created sponsorship opportunities for PWB and collected over $1000 to support PWB events.
“Holly has shown that she is a staunch advocate of the PWB council, and we truly appreciate the support she has given us,” said 2015 NAHB PWB Chair Carole Jones, who presented the award during the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas. “There is no doubt her local chapter will continue to thrive under her leadership and serve as an example for others who are considering the formation of a PWB council at the local level.”
