What is a Bungalow?
Autumnwood Sanford offers many bungalow-style houses. While those who visit are often seeking this style, some aren’t quite sure what it means. Bungalow homes are typically one or one-and-a-half stories. They were first built in the early 1900s as the opposite of Victorian architecture. Whereas Victorian homes are ornate, bungalows embrace simplicity, strong handiwork, and natural materials. Bungalows are meant to be cozy homes. They are often built with natural siding, stone, or stucco exteriors, and heavy porch supports with columns that taper. Many of Autumnwood’s homes are built in this style, though some have two stories.
